what does the RB(-1) written on the solution mean? is it some sort of translation since the matrix A has changed? i haven't come across this before. thank you in advance.

I think that is trying to say that if you change matrix A by making a new row 3 by subtracting row 1 from the old row 3, you get the matrix inticated. So the "R" is actually "13", with the "-1" indicating subtraction. This will give a matrix with the same determinant as A.

Have to say, I'd spell it out more explicitly, writing something like R3' = R3 - R1.

It's an attempt to describe the row operation but it is not clear. Row 3 has been replaced with row 3 - row 1. Nothing to worry about.

I think it's okay here, so yeah, don't worry. But there are a couple more resources worth checking out. So just in case. I know from my own experience. It's not a shame to double-check something, especially if you are not sure of something, but the main thing is that the source is verified. This is how it looks like https://onlinewritersrating.com/. In general, every student needs to know where to get verified information. It will never be superfluous. Well, it's good that you didn't hesitate to ask very well, it should be so.

You're right, it's not always possible to do research on your own. So I often use the help of <a href=
