I've already reported someone in the past but I found out again that my friend has been to McDonald's drive thru and my gf is saying its against the rules because its not essential and shes trying to encourage me to report it. Like the guy isn't really a close friend and my girlfriend is saying its for the best she said she would report him if was her friend because its breaking the law. I just have done it before and I felt bad about it but I don't know because I kind of feel like its the right thing if I want normality back.

It’s not illegal to go to a drive thru. If it was, they wouldn’t be open. Your girlfriend is overreacting. It’s not exactly ‘essential’ but no-one is leaving the car and the risk of transmission is relatively low.

I know but she was saying its the fact its not essential because I remember hearing only delivery is allowed. I just want to mind my own business tbh but my gf is t to taking the virus seriously which i do kind of understand like we've had 3 lockdowns so it shows this virus is bad

Getting a takeaway coffee is deemed ‘essential’. People are still going to the shop for a bottle of wine or ordering takeaway.

Don’t report them but just take it as seriously as you want. Ignore everyone else and make sure you follow the rules. It’s all you can do.

Your girlfriend is way over the top in someone else’s (legal) business.

If a branch of McDonald's were only open for delivery, going through the drive thru lane wouldn't get you anything because there would be no-one standing at the window to take your payment and give you the burger.

Your gf sounds annoying. If it wasn't allowed the drive thru would be closed.

Well then, that means that it wasn't breaking the law for people to be served. McDonald's have been very quick to comply with the Covid regulations and they know exactly what is allowed and isn't.

Think about something more fruitful.
