Zoology?

Is doing zoology a good choice? What Universities are there that do 'Zoology'? Are finding jobs with this degree easy? I don't want to take it if it's hard to find employment. If you get me.

Bump again as no one is seeing this. Where can you go with a btec level 3 animal management course? They have degrees (uni one) at the college, but it's near my home and I would much prefer to do it in a University where I can stay at a dorm and actually have fun.

Hey Anonymous,

Doing Zoology could be a great choice! We have an amazing course at Reading University, taught by some fascinating lectures with broad interests and specialisms. You can have a look at the course here: https://www.reading.ac.uk/biologicalsciences/SchoolofBiologicalSciences/Undergraduate/BScZoology/sbs-bsc-zoology.aspx

Getting a job within the sector can be hard but in general there are a lot of jobs now which want to you have a degree, so doing something you love is definitely worth it even if you end up working in a slightly different sector. If it is something you are passionate about and are willing to put in the work then a career in Zoology is very achievable and rewarding.

I hope this helps and if you have any other questions or would like me to elaborate further on anything then please do ask

I've applied to study Zoology and if you search on the ucas website you'll find lots of universities offer the course. It's important to look around as the course structure can vary so widely. If you can find universities that offer a combination of modules that would interest you then it's definitely worth thinking about. I'd definitely recommend searching the ucas website and go from there really.

I've applied for zoology at Sheffield, Manchester and Birmingham- from what I can tell at the moment the employment rate is not the highest but don't let that discourage you because four years into the future there may be an increase in demand so you never know
Hi there,
I'm a current Biology student at the University of Sheffield, which does offer an undergraduate course in Zoology. I would recommend studying zoology if you have an interest in learning more about animals and would be interested in a job related to this. It's not particularly easy to find employment in many careers so it is probably wise to study something that suits your passions to ensure that you remain committed to pursuing your chosen career.

Have you got any further questions?
