- Set deadlines that are earlier than your schools and complete them (makes you look independent)
- Write in detail in your logbook (even if that means evaluating each source critically early on)
- Reference everything, but make sure there is a good range

I think just being critical of yourself makes for a good EPQ, those who don't need to rely on their supervisor normally do better, but also take into account everything they tell you. For example, talk about in the logbook how you're going to manage your time and sources and how you will evaluate them.
