I live in Folkestone, Kent and I can see the cliffs of France from my street. I can subsequently listen to most mainstream french radio stations.

I'm now learning French at uni, but living in London. Are there any French radio stations broadcasted in the capital? What's the best way to stream French radio over the net?

Can anyone give me a equiv of bbc radio 1, but French?

Just google 'french radio stations' and you can usually find websites where you can listen to them live. I always listened to one, but I cant remember what its called....

This website gives a good selection of online radio stations you may be interested in. On the right hand side of the screen it also gives you the genre of the station, so if you're more interested in listening to the top 40, go to a station which offers this.

You can also pick up French radio signals in most parts of England, but you need a radio which has longwave - these are normally the more expensive of radios so perhaps it'd be better to just listen to podcasts and perhaps just listen to live streaming of the radio via the website above

:yep: I live in the north, and often when I'm searching AM, I can pick up quite a few French stations.

Download Itunes and look under the internet radio tab.

Under international you should see a station called "frequency 3".

Live from Paris france - pop music and good quality (192kbps)

:-)

The vast majority of people have broadband these days, and streaming internet radio doesn't exactly use much bandwidth.

OP, try this website: http://www.bric-a-brac.org/radio/ - particuarly the "Modulation d'amplitude" section. I'm presuming they are LW or MW frequencies that might be possible to pick up from London.

Otherwise, internet streaming is definitely your best bet, as others have mentioned.

I would recommend
http://radio.funradio.fr/player.html
It's quite good for current French music and also fairly easy to understand when the DJs are talking
