I need I create a portfolio to apply for theatre design courses, but I don’t know what to put in it or how to make 3D models

When do you need this by? And what are you currently studying? If you're not already doing creative subject maybe you need to consider an art and design foundation or access course - this would cover portfolio preparation and get you used to model making processes. But in general your portfolio will consist of various images - sketches, designs, coloured images etc and photos of your 3d work. Typically model making uses card, foam board, balsa, plastics etc - unless you've got the skills to go digital and create virtual 3d environments to illustrate your ideas?
