Hi everyone!

In September this year, I will be starting Edinburgh Uni. I'm guessing that I'll have to apply for accommodation pretty soon, and I was wondering if anyone could help me out with my choices.

Preferably I would like to go self-catered, but I've heard that all of the self-catered accoms are 'anti-social'!? I'd love to go somewhere where I can meet lots of people and have fun, and apparently Pollock Halls is good for that but I'm worried incase I don't like the catered food so far my self-catered choices are Salisbury Court, Holyrood and Beaverbank but if someone could point me in the right direction or tell me of their experiences that would be fab.

Thank you!

My brother was at Pollock and he said it was good, there was quite a lot of options on offer and he liked that it was the biggest halls. Sorry I can’t remember anymore it was at least 6 years ago so it might have changed since then!

I am in exactly the same position (particularly as I am vegetarian and I haven't always had the best vegetarian food experiences but I chose this diet so I can't really complain)... I would rather go self-catered but I'd rather be somewhere social and catered than somewhere self-catered and unsocial... I think I might choose Pollock in the end as it seems to be the most social
