how to find upper/lower quartile?? damn A level student forgot bruhhhhhh

(For discrete data)
To find lower quartile:
Divide n by 4.
If this is a whole number, Q_1 is halfway between this data point and the one above. If not, round up and pick this data point.
To find upper quartile:
Find 3/4 of n.
If this is a whole number, Q_3 is halfway between this data point and the one above. If not, round up and pick this data point.


I don't remember if this is discrete or continuous data in the large data set, though the technique is similar for continuous data :smile:
