I was initially thinking on doing English Language as that is what I enjoy the most now at gcse level, however i get better grades in English Literature ( I do not find it as enjoyable though). Would talking the combined course give me more opportunities than just taking english language ?

yes. english language a level is quite different to gcse, i enjoy it but if you want to pursue an english degree then you’re better off with combined or just literature on its own
