Hi! I'm hopefully applying for Egyptology at uni and I need to do some pre-reading. Any good books?

These come from the Cambridge reading list:

Bard, K. (2008). Introduction to the Archaeology of Ancient Egypt. Malden MA: Blackwell
James, T. G. H. (1984). Pharaoh’s People: Scenes from Life in Imperial Egypt. London: Bodley Head.

I'd personally recommend the following:

The History of Egypt Podcast by Dominic Perry (https://www.egyptianhistorypodcast.com/)
Atlas of Ancient Egypt by Baines and Malek
The Tale of Sinuhe and other Egyptian poems by Richard Parkinson

Do you have any specific areas of interest? I'm happy to direct you to resources on them. It's possible that I have some book as PDFs as well.
