hi,
I recently took my ucat and scored badly 2450 and b3
do you think I should still apply to uob ? its my first choice and I'm attending a programme with them that offers reduced offers and gives me a bit more advantage

They don’t take into account SJT banding so that’s a plus. I’m not sure to what extent Birmingham use the UCAT score (if they’re UCAT heavy or not) but if you’re on a scheme which allows for contextual offers, then I see no reason not to apply, as long as you meet their other requirements (GCSE + A Level/ equivalent).
hi I don't have the highest gcses I was wondering if Birmingham weighted them heavily

Birmingham have high GCSE requirements unless you have achieved a levels in which they won’t look at the GCSEs

I believe they do weigh UCAT quite heavily although they don’t specifically say. I got 2580 last year and was rejected due to low UCAT, so might be a little bit of a risk.
Does anyone know how what Birmingham's weightings are?

Hi, I spoke to the Dentistry Admissions tutor at their recent open day and she said that you need to meet their academic requirements, tick the boxes for the PS and then they rank on Ucat. I got the impression that Ucat was the most important element.

Yeah I agree. They put a lot of emphasis on it do any of you guys know what percentile is considered a good UCAT score generally because I’m having a hard time knowing where I land on the scale😂
I believe the average ucat invited to interview last year was 2568 with offer holders having an average ucat of 2720. I don’t remember exactly where I read this so unfortunately can’t double check but I think that’s what was stated.
