Can I teach History with a theology degree?

Hello, I want to go into teaching. I am going for a theology degree but is RE the only teaching I can do with this degree? I took history for gcse and a level.

If I can't how easy is it to change to history at university or do I change now when I already have 3 offers.

History is a pretty popular PGCE subject, so you are less likely to get onto a history PGCE course without a history degree. That doesn't mean it's impossible, though. And doing an RE PGCE doesn't mean you couldn't teach some history once you qualified.

However, a lot can change in three years, so I would suggest only changing your degree if you actually want to study history. If you do, you can talk to the unis about whether you could change courses.
