Hi, I have a criminal law problem question and I was wondering if this is a good structure? The question is about homicide, each line is a paragraph

Introduction - definitions of crimes

Mens rea and actus reus of crimes

Factual and legal causation

How the stuff above is related to the case

Conclusion - liability of the defendant

Sorry for all the criminal questions my criminal law professor is kinda useless, they think everyone is trying to use lockdown as an excuse for not being mentally well, trying to get an easy pass and stuff like that

Hey not sure if this is too useful but this is exactly how my law teacher taught us to structure our answers!

Agree this is a sensible structure. The only thing to have in mind is if you have multiple people to discuss, and potential liability for several offences for each of those people, you are best off doing it offence by offence. So you do John’s liability for murder, John’s liability for GBH, Sally’s liability for manslaughter, Sally’s liability for criminal damage etc (obviously I am making these examples up, but you get the point).

We were told:
Introduction
Actus reus - including causation
Mens rea
Conclusion

Linking each point to the case scenario

I think I’d relate the rule to the crime in each paragraph. Ie define the ar of assault, then apply facts to the rule. Conclude. Then next.saves word I think
