Are economics, politics and English lit soft subjects, and will they be okay for getting into UCL/LSE/oxbridge?

Thanks

Depends what for. If it’s economics or finance you want to do you may want maths in the mix for a highly competitive university.

I mean something in the field of politics, such as IR or PPE.

If you look at the link you'll see they suggest Maths ... you need to do this for each of those unis.

Based on what I know about the course, you'd ideally want Maths and Further Maths (if available) for PPE at Oxford.
Of course, some get in without, but it's all about probability.

If it's PPE at Cambridge, UCL and LSE, then you'll need maths. Oxford might let you slide on the Maths but they do recommend it if you can. History might prove more helpful than English Literature as well.

They sound ok to me.
Just check the course you are interested in on unis websites just to double check what they say.

That depends on what you want to do at uni but English lit is a facilitating subject. If you want to do politics I would recommend history over English lit as I take all three and history links better to it and gives you better skills for uni and those courses.
