so basically I have been instructed to look for a poem that will engage a class of year six children and talk about why I chose it, I really need help because I don’t know what poem to choose

What is this for - a teaching interview?

The whole point is that you do the work, look for the poem, come up with the ideas, and work out why it would engage 11 year olds.
If you can't do this on your own, then it might be worth rethinking teaching as a career.
