Access course vs foundation year

Hi,
I’m looking to start a career as a paramedic. Due to the war in my country I was unable to obtain any formal school qualifications so am currently doing maths and English functional skills. I was planning to do GCSEs then an access course but it looks like some universities do a foundation course too. I’m not sure which to go for, which is best to prepare me and which would be the most straightforward route into starting a paramedic science degree?
Thanks

From what I could gather when I was doing research into studying physio, if you have no formal qualifications your best route would be to do a foundation year if that's available to you. Plus a lot of foundation years then mean you're guaranteed a spot at that uni the following year, and it means it would probably provide a much quicker and direct route to getting on to a degree.
Maybe email the universities you're looking at with foundation years? They can be really helpful when suggesting the best routes to get the qualifications you need.

Good luck!
