Anybody that knows!!
I really wanted to find out what courses were on clearing for last year, especially for Manchester.

Does anyone remember if BSc Computer Science (Human Computer Interaction) was on the clearing list? I know this is really oddly specific but I just wanted to know the demand of that course since I was pretty interested in doing it, but can't anymore since the UCAS deadline lol and other reasons but yeah does anyone know if it was on there? not only that but does anyone remember any other courses that were on clearing for Manchester?

Whether it was in clearing in 2020 doesn’t tell you if they’ll accept late applications in 2021.

Ring them up on Monday afternoon and ask if they plan to close the course for late applications.

Previous year's 'in Clearing' will tell you nothing about what will be in Clearing in any other year - especially last year / this year when everything has been weird.

'In Clearing' relies on a) other people missing their offers and being rejected, b) Unis deciding to put a course in Clearing rather than filling those spaces with 'near misses'. How on earth are you going to predict that this year? We don't even know how A level CAGs are going to be devised, or how they are going to be moderated yet.

Comp Sci is competitive, so is Manchester. Unless you have stonker grades and can approach them through Adjustment, you can probably forget it.

Hi!
So I’m not sure about Computer Science as a subject, but last year, 322 courses were in clearing for Manchester last year. Some of these courses were aerospace engineering, classics and English Literature. In 2019, they have 218 courses in clearing and in 2018 they have 291 courses. So for the last 3 years in a row, they had over 200 courses in clearing for each of those years! So that should increase odds of computer science being on there. In fact, in 2018, pharmacy was open for clearing as well, which is a very competitive course according to their website. Additionally, I think the only reason they had so many courses on clearing last year was probably due to the coronavirus and because exams were cancelled. Since the official exams are cancelled this year to the statistics may be the same. Here are the websites I found most of this information from:

Good luck in applying!

Thank you for this
As people have said the only way to find out is to contact them. I seem to remember Maths and Physics tend to be very competitive there.

Hi, Sorry there is a way to motivate other people rather than put them down if she/he does not get on this year then he/she can apply next year if they extremely passionate about that course that they want, my friend went through clearing and it is not for those missing an offer and being rejected, it's for anyone who want to apply, that they might have thought in the past to apply to university but then wants to go university or found a course that they are passionate about. Clearing is also for people who have offers and got the grades but found another course that they are interested in. I know many people who have done this because of different reasons.No-one can predict the future, whether it is this year or next year and even if an individual is doing an exam you can not know for sure what is on the exam paper or what mark you would get. So have a nice day!!
