maybe you're thinking of the intestine...

the stomach is bacteriologically sterile due to its low pH, apart from the gram negative helicobacter pylori. 80-90% of people that get peptic ulcers also have a h. pylori infection.

i think there is another bacterium that lives in the stomach but it isn't particularly toxic..
