Quick guides to apprenticeships
Electrical engineers typically work at level 6 and above. (BEng, MEng, or PhD) and work in more research and development focused areas.
An electrical technician works from anywhere between level 2 and 5. (Diploma, HNC, HND, or FdEng) and mostly works on things like equipment maintenance, consulting, and support.
If you want to be a technician, you could aim to go to college full time instead.
If you want to be an engineer, you can either go to college or do A levels, and then go to university full time or as a degree apprentice.
