My question is about whether it was the Nazi's policies that made people conform or if it was something else e.g. the terror state.

Would you suggest structuring the coursework so I speak about my 3 main historians separately and then including supplementary historians in various places to support/contradict my main historians?

Hey, is this for Edexcel? My teacher showed us some exemplar essays and although you could look at the 3 historians in turn the ones that scored the highest marks tended to find themes that were prevalent in all of them and then discuss how each historian viewed them while comparing them to each other. For example, mine was on causes of the Russian Revolution and one factor was Lenin so I looked at how all 3 historians viewed Lenin and put it in one section (with supplementary reading).

That sounds like a nice way to structure my essay, thank you!
