Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us; I'd love to connect, perhaps via Amazon Chime. Although I'm not sure how to go about it as I'm new to the forum, therefore, I haven't got access to private messaging yet.

yes i don't mind that at all! i'm not sure when you would be able to access private messaging but when you do i can send you my alias or my slack!

hi i have another question (sorry) - when do offers come out? like do they come out early, mid or late august? just asking because i've accepted an offer from somewhere else and i need to know if i'll have enough time to decline that offer later on.

thanks

it might be different for your year but last year the official offers (after finishing the final stage) came out by email at the end of august i think! hope that's enough time

Just got an invite to the next stage too for London.
Hey, I got an invite to the online interview stage last night as well :^)

Do we have any ideas around the difficultly of the coding section for this? I guess it can't be too advanced, right?
not sure about the difficulty, its a software developer apprenticeship so im guessing most people who've applied have done computer science at gcse/ a level, so shouldn't be too hard

Looking at threads from last year, the coding question shouldn't be difficult at all for anyone who's done at least done some coding before.

One of last years's questions was FizzBuzz (Google it if you don't know), but apparently they're random for each person.

hi everyone!! im a current amazon sde apprentice in my first year, if anyone has any questions let me know! i'm happy to help

Hi there, I wanted to ask you do you know what are their expectations regarding the coding part? I have some experience mostly in web development, I imagine that being an apprenticeship they don’t expect much?
How did it go for you, did you pass all the coding challenges?

hi! the coding challenge is a part of the first challenge out of three so it's quite easy since they want as many applicants as possible  usually some sort of iteration/pattern/list type question, as someone said earlier pretty much like fizzbuzz! and that's actually the only coding you need to do to apply, everything else will be interviews etc.

Do you know what language it is in? or is it just like pseudocode

Hi thanks for the answer!
Do you mean that it’s the first part in the final interview?
Because I did the 4 questions + coding challenge today and it was only 1, I had troubles and didn’t pass it because it was regarding a subject I never studied as I’ve been focusing on front end dev, although I think I did pretty good on the normal questions, I hope they will be enough 😶

you can choose what language you code in, in the coding interface there's a drop down to select a language  most of the common ones are there, javascript, python, java etc. but you can't do pseudocode!

to put it simply, the whole process is split up into three parts, the first is the one everyone is doing currently, the video interview qs and coding challenge. if you pass you go through the next section and if you pass that there's another final one, but you don't need to worry about rn  for the coding challenge do you mean were you not able to give the correct answer? perhaps if your explanation was good you could still pass!

Yes I know that I didn’t pass the coding part, in the video I explained that I haven’t learn that yet as it explains in my CV I mostly worked with front end and some C#, so I’m just hoping the answers to the normal questions will be enough...
Do you know what next step should be? I thought next was going to be the last one 😬

ohhh i see! i don’t think it should be a problem, we have front-end and back-end teams, each of which have very different skill sets  the next step (if it’s the same as it was for me) should be a chime meeting with other potential apprentices where there’ll be a team challenge but i won’t spoil anything hehe (after this is the third and final stage consisting of a ppt presentation and 1-to-1 interviews)

Thank you for all the info, I really appreciate it!
Next stage sounds like fun, now I can just cross my fingers and keep studying so that I can be ready if I get to pass 😊
to be honest the coding challenge is kinda hard, I'm a bit surprised considering its apprenticeship and they train us/ teach us
