Aber Applicants '09

I know I might be jumping the gun a bit with this topic, but who's applying to Aber for next year and what for? I'll keep a running tally in this first post and then I can update if anyone gets offers too XP.

Aberystwyth is my number one first choice at the moment. I went to an open day there last Summer and loved it! I really, really hope I get an offer from there now!

I'll start off by saying I'm applying for German and Spanish.

Went in the summer and Aber may be my 1st choice uni, will have to see what other unis are like, although I can only see me at Aber at the moment :smile:

Really like the uni and the town itself, looks great! Applying for history, haven't decided which one yet!

If I get an offer from them then Aber will be my 1st choice too :smile:

I've applied to do Physical Geography with Education.

Doubt that Aber would be my first choice (either Aber or Swansea as my safe) for LLB European law.

Aber will hopefully be my first choice but parents want me to go to Bangor so I will have to see how Bangor is on their open day. Hoping to do LLB Law or BA Law with Criminology :biggrin:

For law i'd say:

Aberystwyth > Bangor

But I may be biased.

Updated the first post ^_^ I couldn't help noticing that this thread is a little less active than similar ones in other Universities. Would I be right in thinking that Aber gets a large number of students through Clearing?

Umm, maybe more then other uni's, but not loads. The truth is the thread didn't get really active with freshers until about August, and even then not so much as the year before. People will come though, but maybe a bit slower. :smile:

Ive applied for history, probably firm choice.

Not 100% yet but I am leaning towards Aber for an Environmental based course or a Biological (Ecology/Botany) style course out of 3 possible places (Hull, Nottingham or Aber).

Chances are I would start the course at the second or third year due to APL. Main focus is mostly financial, If I went to Hull I would have less debt, less moving and less preparation needed to go there...etc. But chances are I would go to Aber simply because its in what is for me a better environment (and means I can make a reliable excuse as to why I haven't been to visit family :-P).
