I want to do research on the minimum wage for my EPQ and I was wondering if it was covered on the AQA syllabus because if it is, I can’t base my EPQ on it.

Do you do economics? If so, ask your teacher. If not, doesn’t matter, you can’t have too much overlap with things that you study.

Even so, if your project covers a topic that is mentioned on the spec BUT your initial plan shows that you will go sufficiently beyond what’s covered in the spec, it’s fine. EPQs tend to go in much more detail into a topic than A levels do, so you’ll likely be fine.
