A level Design

What is the difference between A-Level and GCSE Design
Do you mean Design and Technology?
Content on the theory side is similar, just the way you apply it is slightly more challenging. For example on GCSE papers you will be told 'this product is made out of X material' whereas on an A-level paper you will have to suggest what material you think it would be made from. Thats a very basic example, obviously you will be required to answer harder questions than that.

In terms of coursework it is the same insofar as you have a major project to do in the final year, the main difference will be in terms of complexity, how long you are expected to spend on the coursework and thus the amount of portfolio stuff you will be expected to do alongside your product.
You will need to show a lot more client feedback and testing (you will need a real person for this even if you blagged it at GCSE) and just generally more of everything - more models, more initial design ideas, more research etc. The actual structures of the project dont differ that much, you still have the 4 main categories (research, ideation, modelling/testing, reflections and evaluation).
