Gosh, I have only met like two people from Manchester at university and I already hate their accent! I keeep going "sorry...what did you just say" way too many times! How the hell do people from the South even understand them? Seriously...argh...so annoying. rant over/

Grow up - you're from Nottingham. That's even worse.
:frown: any thing else you want to call us for?

haha i suppose it can be quite hard to understand at times

Brummy is worse.
I quite like the Mancunian accent; I have a friend on my course who is from Manchester and her accent is fab  lol
What side of Manchester? Northern Manc accent seems to be fairly different from southern

Us in the north speek with a lancashire twang, like old men, in the south, they all sound like the Gallaghers (generally)

People often like my accent, or call me an old man :-|

No, I am from London which is why I said "people from the south"..I haven't got anything against the people - I just hate their accent because I cannot understand them lol. The two guys from Manchester that I spoke to talked really quietly and FAST.

There are better things to complain about. Like pineapples. WTF are pineapples all about?

I happen to love accents. Especially on men. :hubba: Something manly and sexy about them.

EDIT: for a better smiley lol.

Black country, more than Brummy.

But, yeah, there are stronger accents (and stranger dialects).

they may well find it hard to understand southern people's accents because they are quite different, no need to hate them that is just silly, the world would be boring if everyone spoke the same language and had the same accent. besides you'll get used to it just forget about the accent and get on with uni.

I was cut by a pineapple before.

I have now declared them to be evil (they are tying to take over the world and are allies of the banana) :yep:

Cockneys are hard to understand, after a year of living with one i still couldnt understand what they said, and vise versa for them with my accent.

And cockneys speak in riddles and rhymes.

I love Manc accents, I think they're well sexy :p: Haha no I really do like them, they sound really cool! I love Lancashire-y area accents in general, Bolton proper does it for me - I think I'm probably alone in that!
The liverpool accent is far far worse!
My boyfriend has a slight Manchester accent and it makes me happy.
