The Official 03/04 UCAS Application Progress Tracker Thread

As a follow up to the "Where have you applied to?" thread, this one will keep up with how your applications are progressing.

Please feel free to keep us informed with any offers you recieve - which should be in the following format:

Also we would like to know how when you get interviews.

As a reference point, I would now like to keep a ready reckoner for you of the deadlines:

•

1st September - Opening day for Applications

•

15th October - Closing Date for Applications to Oxbridge, medicine, dentistry, or vet. med/ vet. science

•

1st Janaury 04 - First date to recieve Art & Design Route B applications

•

15th January - Advisory closing date for UK Applications

•

5th March - Advisory closing date for Art & Design Route B applications

•

30 June - Final Date for Submitting UCAS Extra applications before clearing

•

19 August - Clearing Opens

•

24 September - Final Date for Applications through Clearing

Important
If you recieve the response of your final University (AS6F) by date 1 you must reply with a decision of "Firm/Insurance/Offer Declined" by date 2

31 March 2004 - 28th April 2004

•

10 May 2004 - 7th June 2004

•

18th June 2004 - 7th July 2004

Missing these deadlines puts your place at risk.

Please stick to the format, any general chit-chat can be kept to the forum, we want this just so we can follow people's progress, and so you can see what sort of time scale / how quickly the Universities are responding with offers etc.

Paper Trail

Confirmation Card
If you have sent off your application by post, you should soon afterwards recieve back your confirmation card which says that they have recieved your application.
YOU DO NOT REQUIRE THIS IF YOU ARE USING ELECTRONIC OR THE APPLY ROUTES OF APPLICATION.

AS2
Confirmation Letter - This document from UCAS confirms the courses and institutes to which you have applied, as well as your Online Enquiry Password, which allows you to track your progress.

Acknowledgements
These will come from each University, thanking you for applying to them, they will get back to you in the near future with their offer details, both on their letter headed paper, and by AS3 (below)

AS3
Offer Letter - These documents are what UCAS send to you with each an University replies to you with an offer. It may contain a rejection, a conditional offer, or unconditional offer.

AS6-F
Final Offer & Reply Slip
This is the document which contains the response from your last University to make a decision on making you an offer - at the bottom will be a slip to which you must reply, within the allocated deadline, with your decision on which to accept as Conditional Firm, and Conditional Insurance, Declines, (or indeed just an Unconditional Firm - if you are really lucky).

AS9
Audit Statement
This comes after you have made your decision on CF, CI, UF, D, and confirms your current position.

More Acknowledgements
Universities will now reply to you telling you that they appriciate you choosing them as Firm/Insurance, and will invite you up on their post-application open days. It is a good idea to go to these.

AS10 - Clearing Entry Form
If you do not succeed in making your offers for Firm or Insurance, you will be sent one of these.

AS12 - Confirmation of Place
Alternatively if you have reached made your offer, you will be sent one of these, to fill in and return to UCAS as SOON AS POSSIBLE.

AS18 - Acceptance in Clearing
This letter from UCAS is what you recieve should you be successful in gaining a place at an institution through clearing.

I've got a conditional offer for Loughborough to study Geography with Economics, but all it says on tracker is:

Conditional offer
no offer details found in database

Does anyone know if grades/points appear later on? Or is it permanently messed up?

A slightly off the point question but does anyone else have trouble viewing the Times good university guide league tables?? I don't know wether it is my javascript sttings but I can never view them.

i've applied for cambridge, nottingham, bristol, warwick, ucl and york...the only one i've heard ANYTHING from is cambridge, inviting me for an interview...should i be worried that NONE of the others have gotten back to me?!

Hi! I haven't heard from Nottingham, Bristol or York yet either, so don't worry! I've also applied to read Psychology at Oxford, St Andrews and Durham. All I've heard is from Oxford (regarding interviews) and Durham to say that all applications are going to take ages! So, to sum up, I haven't had ANY offers yet either- even though my application went well before October 15th!

The java always causes my browser to freeze for about 3 minutes before the site will come up - but that's the crappy setup of my computer more than anything else...the layout is always ok - although last yrs GUG the tables used to include two lines of text overlapping each other - made it hard to read/decipher without copy and pasting the table into excel.

Right click on the page, select view source, copy it all and paste in notepad and save as HTML seems to make it appear properly.

I don't really care what I mean - it just takes about 3 minutes for the little coffe cup to appear in the taskbar :shrug:

Doesn't bother me hugely because I've got most of the older books and I copy and paste most of the tables - it's only when I want to check out subject tables that I have to resort to visiting the actual site.

Hi there, applied on the 8th to several unis. Received two interviews.. However,

has anybody applied to:
Kings College London
university College London
Warwick

has anybody received any offers or replies from these uni's? If so, when are the interviews?

i got an offer to do kings biomedical so long as i get BBB w/out an interview. my friend did too. im still holding out for medicine tho. havent got ne replies from the medical unis tho. did n e one else do that UCL entrance BMAT test thing? i got so confused n there wasnt enough time. i no they'll reject me.

n e way i'm slightly worried becos my school is really retarded and basically decided to send my form off at the last minute and i;m not sure if it reached UCAS on time cos on the postacrd they send back the postmark read 16 oct... is that wen they recieved my form?? cos i gta letter from imperial saying they'd got my form and wld be processing it but wld b rejecting it if i havent sent the form on time...

The 16th of October is the date when UCAS had recieved your application logged it into their system, posted it back to you and the royal mail had recieved it.

It's very likely that your form got in on the 15th or earlier.
