Am I mad to want to resign my GP training? ..
I am already ST2 , but I am not satisfied with my job. I used to be a staff grade orthopaedics, but choose GP training for the life style, but I am having second thoughts now.

Has anyone switched training for GP to any other specialty before?
If I continue my training, can I retrain?

Do you think it is a good idea to leave to resign this training being only one year away form CCT ?

It is not uncommon to get years down a training pathway, then retrain. Less common now that you get a huge pay cut doing so, but still. It's much more common to be going from x specialty TO GP training of course, but again not unheard of.

At this point you're halfway through the training programme and have missed this year's first round deadline for jobs. I would be tempted to keep going and get CCT unless you really dislike it.
