Beating Burnout With A Blog (GYG)

My mocks have been cancelled :eek:

I don’t know if I’m happy or sad about this because I’ve worked for these like they’re my final exams and I was hyped up to do them in two weeks time. I haven’t had an official email from college just a classroom announcement from my maths teacher, at least he’s got our backs :rolleyes:

Apparently we have in-class assessments 1 or 2 weeks later instead so I still get an opportunity to prove I’ve been been working hard.

As for the announcement today I feel alright as I know my teachers and most other teachers have integrity. I know it’s stupid but I don’t think that I‘ll feel worthy of my teacher assessed grades even though I’ve been consistently achieving As and A*s. I also feel like people will think less of my A-levels because I didn’t sit exams but everyone’s saying A-levels won’t matter to anyone after a degree anyway.

the same has happened to me.... were not having mocks anymore which is sad
dw im sure everything will work out... we're all in this together... i just hope that the grades are fairer then they were last year

just try ur best and dont give up... its all really unfair for the year 13s now but hopefully it'll get better and we all get the grade we deserve

I emailed my teacher afterwards because I was worried I was coming across lazy being against assessments and luckily she said not to worry and my grade won’t be negatively affected by the assessments. Apparently,I’m in a different position to most people in my class as they’re all trying to improve but I’m just needing to maintain an A*.

Yeah its really difficult to not give up with all these curve balls. I managed to go on a walk and it gave me the energy to keep going today. Tomorrow should be a good day though as I only have biology :biggrin:

I’m going into college today to get tested before I return on Thursday and I’m super nervous. After my test I’ve got a two hour ‘welcome back session’ with my tutor. Then I’m going straight home to eat lunch before joining a zoom call to meet a new tutee. After all that I need to do some revision before the biology Olympiad tomorrow. I only signed up on Friday afternoon so the fact I haven’t done any year 1 revision isn’t too bad.

Good luck... i started school today, it wasn't actually that bad because I feel more motivated to do my own revision now... it's not just 24/7 looking at a screen... i actually prefer being at school

Today went okay I had a Chemistry lesson, a Maths lesson and the Biology Olympiad and somehow I managed to do a couple hours revision as well. The Olympiad went really well today and I have the next paper tomorrow at 9am - it’ll be my first lesson back in college which is scary. I also have the dentist tomorrow to fix my front tooth which has been broken since November 🦷

I’ve been revising like crazy for the last couple weeks and I’m so glad I did because I’m feeling great about the maths test I did today, I was really worried as it was on mechanics, integration and numerical methods (my worst areas). I have chemistry on Wednesday and biology on Thursday and I’m feeling great about those so I feel like I can relax a little bit.

No I do I just revised through February and I start Easter break after Thursday. I’m going to have to revise through Easter too as my final exams are now 5 weeks away :eek:
