Beating Burnout With A Blog (GYG)

I think I’m done with partial fractions I’ve done 5 out of 7 questions on maths genie and I’m feeling confident.

My notes are back to their normal messiness :emo:
I’ve done the 7/9 questions on the reverse chain rule but it’s not going well :ashamed:
I think I got it confused with chain rule and I also had to remind myself of the rules for integrating exponentials.

I’ve done 1hr 45mins maths now so I’m going to have a break. My chemistry work hasn’t been set yet so I don’t know what I’m going to do after the break - I’ll probably just have a long lunch break

[scroll] Welcome to my first GYG blog [/scroll]

I've been struggling with motivation since the start of lockdown 3.0 but I'm hoping this will help me and my last few brain cells get ready for my mocks and everything else I'm going to have to do for my A-levels.

I'm currently in year 13 and my subjects are
Biology, Chemistry & Maths

I'm planning to do Natural Sciences at university and my offers range from AAB to A*AA

My dream course is NatSci at Southampton so I'm aiming for A*AA

So unrelated but I like ur pfp 😭

I’ve accidentally had an almost 4hr break :facepalm:my chemistry teacher still hasn’t set the test so I’m just going to do the biology paper

Updated to do list

Maths
Graph transformations ✔️
Differentiation (mainly implicit)✔️
Partial fractions ✔️
Integration✔️
Binomial expansion
Binomial distribution

Biology
2018 paper 2 - I’ve done all the other unlocked ones I think

Chemistry
1hr paper set today
Updated to do list

Maths ✔️

Biology
2018 paper 2 ✔️

Chemistry
1hr paper ✔️
Errrr I’ve just wasted an hour on tsr - I have no self control :colondollar:

I did my maths test today and I think it went really well so hopefully Maths will be an A/A* as I’ve been an A/A* in all my assessments up to now. If it is I’ll be able to get into either my firm or insurance!

I have a biology lesson tomorrow and then my chemistry test Friday morning and biology test Friday afternoon. I’m thinking of doing some seneca this evening but tbh I’m too tired.
I’m feeling really low today after finishing my A-levels I’m genuinely going to miss the friends I’ve made in the last two years and even my teachers, I’ve already had a cry this morning because I’m probably never going to see so many people again. Even old friends that I don’t hang around with I see every day it’ll be so weird not seeing them anymore.

Thank you so much, I’m feeling better today and even got the results for my last biology assessment that I sat on Friday (84%).

I’m definitely going to keep in touch with my friends and i have 4 and a half months until i go to university so I will definitely meet up with them before then

aww bless, im sure ull make lots of new friends and just keep in contact with them, try get together every now and then
I’m planning on finally finishing A-level content today, over a month after my last in person lesson . I have to submit a paper 3 for chemistry (not for TAG it was just what we were supposed to submit the last less before half term two weeks ago) and watch a video for my biology lesson

I got my result back from my assessments and got A*A*A* so I’m hoping my TAGs will meet the A*AA requirements for Southampton. I’m worried as my college doesn’t normally get A* students I might be left with less than the requirements and I’m doubting my ability to move 180 miles from home if I end up at my insurance choice. I’m thinking I might need to consider universities within a 100 mile radius of home so I’ve been looking at ones like Kent, Surrey and Sussex for chemistry but I just think I’ll be disappointed if I’ve gotten so close to my dream course.

Basically as many past paper questions as possible as well as seneca for biology and chemistry. I can elaborate more if you would like about how I organise my time etc?

How are you revising at the moment?

I made flashcards and seneca as I went along and I did exam questions my teacher gave me for each topic.

For assessments
I did exam questions from physics and maths tutor and a-levelchemistry.co.uk for around 4 weeks before each assessment and I covered every topic. I would print them out and divide up the questions by how many weeks I had. Then in the last week I would go back through the whole course on seneca and do more questions on the topics that I got the lowest percentages in.

Thank youu x
I forgot to update this with my results because I’ve been working full time since results day and just got a new puppy.

So on results day the first thing I did was check track, I logged in at 8:30 and saw I’d got into Southampton so I was really happy. Then I got my results emailed to me just after so opened them straight away and once they loaded I cried because I was so proud of what I’d achieved.

If you want to know what I got it’s in this spoiler and I hope anyone who sees this got what they needed on results day and if not I’m sure you’re find a path that works for you

Spoiler
