MPharm with Foundation @ Reading

Hi everyone, I applied recently to study Pharmacy with a foundation year at Uni of Reading, and I was wondering if anyone knows the typical timetable of a first year pharmacy foundation student, and what books they will need.

Hi there,
Congratulations on applying to study Pharmacy with a foundation year at the University of Reading! Whilst I am not a Pharmacy student, I believe the timetable of a first-year pharmacy foundation student includes a mix of lectures, laboratory sessions, practicals etc. Our pharmacy practice suites use professional dispensing software and real medicines aiming to build up your experience of key processes and handling substances. For further information, feel free to chat to one of our student ambassadors here who can provide you with a deeper insight of what the typical timetable may look like. It is also worth noting that outside of your timetable, you will have the opportunity to meet with your academic tutor or schedule careers appointments with our dedicated careers service if you wish to. More information on what our careers service offer can be found here.

Best of luck!

Hi! Applied to Reading for a foundation year with pharmacy and got in with the grade requirements ABB. Hypothetically, if one was not able to receive the grades or get lower, would they still be highly considered a place? thanks!

Hi there,

Congratulations on receiving your offer to study at Reading! With regards to whether you would still get a place on the course if you didn’t get the grades is dependent on a few factors. The admissions team here at Reading will not only look at your grades, they will also look at personal statements, extra curricular, experience etc! This means that there is still a good chance of you being accepted on the course but it’s good to keep in mind that this might not always be the case.

If you are worried about not receiving the grades for your course, it is worth researching into our clearing process. Clearing gives you a chance to still study at Reading despite not getting the exact grades needed for the course. A great piece of advice is to research clearing and prepare all of the steps before results day so that you can be as ready as possible!

Best of luck!
