sickle cell anaemia

The specific mutation resulting in sickle cell anaemia development would be HbS. I'm thinking it is but something is creaming no at me

HbS is the allele that codes for the abnormal haemoglobin in sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait. The actual mutation is a single base substitution that causes glutamate to be replaced by valine at the sixth position.

Thank you for your reply, after looking a little deeper I found that out but had a lot to read and understand to get there, but all good now thank you.
