I was reading that some car insurance companies are giving money back to customers who are not driving due to lockdown. I’m going to call my insurance company soon to discuss this as I’ve barely driven for an entire year..

Yes, I adjusted my mileage last year and got a little back, about £15 I think. My insurance company let me do it via online form.

I'm well under my estimated mileage due to Covid. On track to only have done 8,000 miles this year vs the 20,000 miles I am paying for and usually do.

I wouldn't see this having much chance. Your insurance company aren't the ones influencing your driving and won't make (in their timescales) kneejerk choices about risks. It would be like asking a landlord for a rent reduction because you aren't living there as much as expected, it's simply not in their business interests. As said above, Admiral gave out £25 but as a token gesture. If you want to renegotiate your policy for lower mileage ect, that's fine, but they likely won't change it for free.
