The Student Room Group

Help I don't know what course to choose

I got an unconditional offers from Stirling - economics and maths, Aberdeen- economics and maths and Heriot Watt- economics. What university has the best course for economics ? All these university ranking tables are confusing me as they rank them all quite differently
Ranking tables are a survey - it’s only useful if you believe the in data and the data gathering process they used. I don’t know which ranking you used but,
The complete university guide - weights research output more heavily.
The Guardian - weights student satisfaction more heavily.
QS - weights prestige and historical reputation more heavily.

Are these factors important to you?
If not, the surveys are of very limited use to you.

Personally, I’d look at location and course structure more than a survey ranking (but that’s just me).
