I just have a quick question. I’ve heared teachers are able to negotiate their pay. Do a lot of teachers do this and can someone please tell me how this works

There is a pay scale for teachers that is used by most schools. You can find details on it here: https://www.nasuwt.org.uk/advice/pay...ay-scales.html

Any negotiation would therefore be about where you land on the pay scale. Most people start at M1, but I have heard of NQTs who have negotiated to start higher up - often people who are working in shortage subjects and / or have a lot of relevant experience that makes them more 'valuable' than a typical NQT.

When it comes to moving from the Main Pay Range to the Upper Pay Range, a teacher must typically apply to cross this threshold, so I suppose you could see that as a negotiation as well.
