Do Hmrc and student finance check every application?

Okay thanks, the reason i ask is because our household income will drop drastically when i go to universtiy. Right now i am working for a year to provide for when i go to university due to circumstances with my family.
This means this year i will be earning about 14k which will drastically increase our household income therefore reduce my maintaince and make me not elidgabke for bursaries.
Is there anyway i can report my hosuehold income as being reduced and therefore get a better maintaince?
