Hi Everyone.

I'm just about to go off on holiday to the lovely sunny Ibiza, in this week that I am "away" i will be handing my duties over to your new Barman (who you'll have to wait to find out who is taking over) they will be briefed on what to do and what the situation is. DayneD89 will be your new barman

I will still be around on TSR (probably more than usual) when I find myself a nice little internet cafe somewhere mear a beach and just spend all day inside on TSR :p:

anyway here is whats happening at present

Finally I will now be accepting manifestos for the Speaker Position (max 250 words), if you could please send these to me over the next week in whcih I am away it will be appreciated. i'm calling the deadline as the 19th at mid-day when the speaker hustings will be underway.. though pretty much everything will get started as soon as I come on TSR upon returning home.

I will still also be taking the names of people interested in either political party. so please send them in my direction as per usual. but please guys behave whilst I'm away as you'll have the supermods playing with the ban-hammer in the HoC for the duration of my holiday.

Thanks and see you all in a week,

Dan

Don't have control of the MP group for some reason so I'm having to send this to all of you manualy. If I forget anyone or I misspell a name, thats the reason. I'm just copy pasting off the sticky thread in the HoC. Let me know if anyone didn't get it or if MPs have changed and I will edit that post.

Many Thanks

Dan

Hi Everyone,

First of all I must apologise at how late this is getting to you. Had moderation nightmares in General Discussion last night with the news of Michael Jackson so got held up there all night!

This is however my penultimate PM as Speaker for TSR House of commons, the next PM you receive from me will be announcing the next speaker of the HoC and the business which I leave to him.

There is still a few hours left to cast your vote on the next speaker. you can do so here. Once the result comes through, I will then be stepping down as speaker from midnight following the result. this is to ensure powers are handed over correctly.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the house, not just the MP’s and party leaders but everyone who has taken part in debates and helped the parties progress, and for the first time in quite a while help form some completely new never seen before parties within the house.

My return to the speakers chair I have to say was a little unexpected. I took over as a non elected Deputy Speaker when Alasdair got bogged under and the moderation team appointed me just an interim speaker, I ended re-standing (unopposed for the second time) and getting elected with a huge majority. Something I really didn’t expect to get because I know I’ve made enemies during the course of my HoC dealings. Now the time has come where I feel I need to step back from the front of the house and reside to the back benches where I can put my feet up and possibly sleep a bit. So I apologise for the snoring in advance.

Throughout my time in office I’ve enjoyed dealing with the people of the house, most notably Dayne, Dan Grover, Alasdair, Bruce, Paperclip, Acaila, Nefarious and a whole host of others (sorry can’t go on listing everyone). I know I’ve had arguments with Grape190190, mattbroon, Oriel Historian and of course most recently Matthew_Lowson, but you can’t always please everyone, tough in most cases resolutions can be made and put the past behind us. I will say this through. I’ve always stuck to my guns and been forceful wherever I needed to be. I have overcome some huge hurdles and had to make some extremely tough decisions, some of which have been unpopular with the house.

I really want to say I’m going to miss being speaker, but honestly don’t think I will because people just don’t realise how time consuming the job is. And the organisation skills involved. I no longer have the time I’d like to commit to it and feel that my degree has to take precedence now. That said I’m still going to be actively involved in the house with the new Centre Party and will be still be around to assist Dayne in his new position as speaker should he need advice. I’ll also be around in GD to help oversee general elections from a moderation point of view.

My time as speaker has been great and a lot has been achieved, a constitution, 3 General Elections (with over 1,200 votes cast), nearly 100 bills, the speakers chamber creation, 2 party formations and headway on another few. Looking back through TSR HoC history I’ve been the 2 longest serving speaker(s) covering nearly 25% of the HoC’s history from that first ever general election which kicked off this fine establishment. I now hand over the chair to DayneD89 as your newly elected speaker and wish him and the rest of you the very best for the future within the house.

Many Thanks

Dan

P.S as dayne hasn't actually yet got his powers (and I'm hoping he'll get them tomorrow) this mignt not be the lasty PM you get from me. I may have to continue until he gets his powers and I lose mine!

p.p.s thank you to those conservative members who've tried to sweet talk me into joining their party! but I think I'll stick with the centrist party thanks :p:

Right. I am starting the search for a new Deputy speaker (Barman). Please send me your manifestos, which must be under 250 words, by Wednesday the 8th July if you wish to run. Remember that you keep your MP place if you do get elected to this position. As a note, I will not be restricting applicants to MP's, though only MP's will be able to vote as the constitution says it must be in the lobbies.
