I want to do chemistry or biochem. The job I want to have is where I study drugs and maybe create drugs. The job isn’t too research focused but there are elements of it. Also a lot of time in the lab would be nice. I think pharmacology is what this sounds like but idk.

Don’t be prepared to go into the job market finding roles that ‘aren’t too research focussed’ if what you want to do is work with drugs and manufacture or discover new ones. It is a very research oriented field. Try searching terms like: medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry, natural products chemistry, drug discovery, pharmaceutical science, pharmacology, biomedical science, biochemistry.
Organic synthetic chemistry is a core module of chemistry where you will learn foundational knowledge that is applied in these areas. It is required to work in fields where drug discovery, development and manufacture. Chemistry is the most well rounded course as it is broad in scope. Typically, one would aim to study an MSc specialising in a particular field to gain a competitive edge when entering the job market.
Chemical engineering is also an option, if you are interested more in the manufacturing processes on a large scale.
