hi does anyone know if there are any benefits in terms of my career in taking arts such as music and drama for gsce? would you say it is a good idea or a waste of time?

Both have no impact on your career unless you want to take one of them to higher level. If you play an instrument already taking music may be a good idea. If you enjoy taking art then go for it. Art will be time consuming though. If you aren't interested in either then there's no need to take them.
