nhs application stp 2021

Are there any advice for the scientific and transferable skills section on STP application 2021?
If you look on the thread "NHS STP 2021 support group" there's loads of advice on there. Basic advice is to go though the specification and try and tick off as many points as you can. For scientific, have you done any research (dissertation projects?) or got any experience in a lab you can mention? Transferable can be pretty much anything - think of a part time job, sports team, extra-curricular or society project... anything where you can show your leadership, teamwork and communication skills. Try and tailor it towards your specialism specifically (so for mine, in the scientific section, I mentioned my masters research project which was in the same field as my STP specialism choice, as well as a few relevant seminars and lectures I attended).
Above all be honest! Sell yourself, but don't over-exaggerate. Before I wrote my application, I found trying to write down one example for where I had demonstrated each point on the specification helped. I could see which scenarios covered multiple points and it helped me plan what I could include.

Look at the job description for your specialism - can you match that?
For ability to perform a wide range of duties - have you had a job or a role which involved being able to do a wide range of tasks? (e.g. Bob is a science tutor, this involves planning and preparing lesson content, teaching personalised lesson content to eahc student, providing assessment and feedback...., George worked in a bar, this involves monitoring stock levels, changing barrels, serving customers, working in a team, handling money, serving food.... you get the idea)
Coordination and manual dexterity are simple, just demonstrate how you have that.
Also full disclaimer to say I don't actually know what the right answers are - I'm not on the STP or involved with the application, I'm just applying this year and this is what I have done for mine. May or may not work, who knows
