I find lo-fi type girls with thick rimmed glasses/flowery dresses more nauseatingly "trying to be twee". With bags with buttons on and all their drawings of bears on bicycles etc. Now that's devoid of personality.

Oh, don't get me wrong: I'm an equal-opportunities discriminator; but ersatz 'culture' is something I simply cannot abide, and she's no less hollow or banal for having latched onto/assimilated pseudo-Japanese traits or mannerisms as a refuge from her inability to function in the real world than the legions of identically 'distinctive' emo/goth/hipster children - except that, being twenty-two years old (cf. Encyclopedia Dramatica), she is utterly without excuse.

If I hear one more Youtube e-lebrity littering their speech with 'desu' as some kind of ****ed shibboleth for their worthless sub-culture, I swear I am going to break my monitor.

Yeah, I would agree there. I just want to tell them

"You are not -chan. I am not -chan. Desu does not go at the end of sentences that are otherwise in English. Write sentences either entirely in Japanese or entirely in English. Kawaii in romaji means nothing. Goodbye sad English/American/non japanese person"

She reminds me of the cat in the hat, or the little guy's wife in horton hears a who.

The female presenter is far prettier.

She's potentially decent-looking, but anyone with teeth that malformed who'd prioritise the purchase of a MacBook and successive week-long excursions to the Pacific Rim over drastic dental intervention deserves every ounce of ridicule and contempt thrown at them.

Reply 45

She has sexy eyes. Apart from that, she looks like she's just been punched in the nose and her teeth are so deformed she doesn't even want to show them...

Reply 46

She's freaking scary!

lool thats jokes! the girl scares me though.. her videos are really weird. i dont get why people from japan/china like girls that look like they havnt even reached their teens yet. ive got a mate a uni who is chinese and he too likes girls that look like theyre still in primary school... nasty. i think its got somethin to do with anime

Reply 48

She has crooked teeth and talks like a 5 year old.

Reply 49

She would be, but check out her teeth on the video on her profile. Someone should go to the dentist.

EDIT:

I agree that Japanese girls are usually cute, and she is, but I don't think there's anything that sets her miles apart from the rest of them...

That's actually kind of sad. She keeps covering up her teeth.

Reply 52

Lovely eyes nice skin rest of her face is rough. The comments made me laugh though

Reply 53

Yeah I would...

She's not cute though.

That's still really pretty.

OK I don't feel sorry for her. What is the point of her? She films herself trying to talk Japanese but she actually can't? Ugh I hate that kind of person.

Her mouth is strange.

If you watch the interview, while she isn't fluent, she can understand quite a bit and respond too.
She explains in a forum that because there were no japanese teachers in her town she taught herself.

Just to add some reality to this thread and if it hasn't been said already: "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

Reply 59

It looks like all videos of her have been purged from youtube.
