I'm considering doing a masters in education but specialising in early childhood as that's what my undergraduate degree is but I'm not 100% sure of what job prospects it could lead to. Has anyone done a masters in education? And what jobs have you done after completing it?

Hi rlf97

It is great that you're considering studying for a Masters in Education.

We other MA Education and Early Childhood at the University of Hull - further details can be found on our website - https://www.hull.ac.uk/study/postgra...y-childhood-ma
A central aim is to help early years professionals to develop a clear understanding of, and a critical perspective on, issues around early childhood studies.
In regards to future prospects, Graduates leave with reflective and practical skills and the knowledge they need to contribute to their chosen learning community.

As the master's course is designed to further develop skills that you began to develop during your undergraduate degree, careers will be similar to the undergraduate however you will have that further in-depth knowledge and skills which you have developed.

Examples of future prospects include but are not limited too:
Portage worker
Community nursery nurse
Children’s centre practitioner
Family support worker
Early years practitioner
Child support worker

Hope this is of some help.

Hi rlf97
I just want to back up everything Emily says. There's a long list of possible careers on our Education postgraduate page, including positions in Children and Young People's Services, child and family social care, play worker, charity sector roles. And we do have a wide range of postgraduate Education courses. These include a specific Early Years pathway in our Education MA.
All the best in your search.
Kind regards.
