Yes
I hope so
yes, it's good. you could always drop out of sixth form and work, and turn your hiccup into a gap year.
its not that good. You can have fun and meet people whatever you do.

It's not bad.

I'm at 6th form, and thought I would be at an advanatge because of smaller classes aswell but, yeah, I hate it. Teachers are rubbish and the help isnt that great either. I've had to start self teaching myself :|
Just try coping with the two years. It'll fly by, I'm sure uni is gonna be fab even though I'm not even up to that stage yet lol.

It's great so far, but sixth form was fairly cack in comparison.

I think I've wished my life for the past three years. And I'm finally at uni, doing what I want to do at a lovely university, and I love it. It's absolutely awesome, I met lots of cool people, I love the city and the university, my courses are great, tutors are very nice, it's beyond my expectations tbh. But I think you have to be in the mood for it. I mean lots of people feel homesick or decide that uni finally wasn't for them. I so wanted to go to university, I couldn't be happier now.

Things didn't exactly changed though. I still have lessons, I have to work a lot, but less than at school (erm, that's not the case for everyone :colondollar:), I have friends, do sport, etc, it's the same. But I'm more independent, I'm away from my country and my family, it's kind of different from where I used to live and it's how I wanted to live and study. So I'd say that yes, university is rather fantastic :yep:

It's alright, I was like you I hated sixth form so was looking forward to uni since lower sixth. Now I'm here it's a hell of a lot better than sixth form but not as amazing as most people make it out to be. I am however not a very social person (I have no desire to be either) and am sure that If you like that sort of thing you would love it.

EDIT: I find the fact that I'm doing 2 subjects I love helps a lot (make sure you make the right choice), being independent is great also though.
I enjoyed school and sixth form. But Uni is better.

Get involved in activites you love, do sport, try to be a little bit more independent, do what you want to, make new friends (if applicable), work the best you can to be kind of rewarded to spend two years doing more work. If you're studying subjects you actually enjoy and not that you *need*, work is gonna be easier and more enjoyable :yep:. If you stick to your old friends, try to make some new ones, it's always cool to meet new people, they can bring you so much! There are plenty of things you can do during these two years I'm certainly forgetting but I think this is just basic stuff . Good luck anyway!

do you mean - what year? I'm in my final year. My 6th form is a little near Manchester. And I really hope I can go to Manc Uni, even though I dont meet there entry requirments :frown: lol I hope I answered the question you asked

so yeah for some odd reason, I always feel like I could do much better if I went to a good college (which I could have easily gotten into), I would have been surrounded by fairly intelligent people and have access to good resources.

I guess 'grass is always greener on the other side'... but its gut instinct you know? Like I know I could have done better i nmy AS levels if I went to college. the people in my 6th form are really childish so the teachers treat us like children and dont make the effort to teach us well.
It's become an even bigger regret now, coz I could have changed colleges after my first year. but I had so much to do that I just didnt have the effort to change places.

do you have any plans on what you want to do at uni?

What course do you like to apply for? If your application is strong enough and your course not too competitive, I think you have a fair chance of getting in :yep:, I mean I missed my requirements pretty badly and they still let me in, though I suppose I'm a sort of rare breed and they were looking for students :colondollar:. If you have any questions about the university or your application, don't hesitate, I'd be happy to help!

i might try find an out of shcool something or other to get some new peole and just treat school as learning land which after all it is... although at the same time im 16 - 18 it should be a great time of my life... ahh i don't know. but thanks for your help x

If you have problem choosing your subject, may be this test can help you . Otherwise, make list with pros and cons of the subjects you like/dislike, what you'd like to do later, or what's the field you'd rather work in, and also anylising what are your hobbies and what you like to do may help you choosing a course. Don't hesitate to talk to your teachers, to do lots of research on unis website (maybe the content of one course will appeal to you more than the others), you can also ask current students doing the course you'd like to know more about on TSR, etc, there are plenty of things to do! :woo:

And about getting an activity, focus on what you like to do, like if you like to be outside, if you want to compete, if you like being in a team or not, etc. :yep:
