Hi there,
I'm a current Bath student and I've had several part-times whilst studying here, so hopefully I can help
Bath has a really good high-street with lots of shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and so on. They obviously advertise part-time jobs all the time, so you could easily apply for jobs in the city centre. However, these will be harder to fit around your studies since they aren't only advertised as jobs to students. A few people I know worked in the evenings in restaurants, bars or clubs, but obviously this could interfere with your social life.
However, the university/SU actually advertised loads of jobs exclusively to the students at Bath! They post them on the
Joblink webpage - due to COVID, there aren't many on there right now but usually there's quite a few there. These are either jobs offered by the university/SU, or by external employers who are looking to employ students. Some examples of jobs they typically advertise are:
β’
Working in a cafe or eatery on campus
β’
Working in campus supermarket/shop
β’
Student ambassador work, which could be giving Open Day campus or accommodation tours, doing Q&As, the Calling Campaign or answering questions here on Student Room
β’
Writing blogs and filming social media content for the uni
β’
Admin work around campus, i.e. in the accommodation team
As the uni/SU offers them directly to students, they are all really easy to fit around your uni timetable. I myself have done several of the student ambassador roles throughout my time at Bath, as well as working as a cleaner in the accommodation over the summer. I also worked as a club rep selling tickets for clubs nights, and as a bartender in a nightclub. I personally found it really easy to find part-time work at the uni - you just have to regularly check the Joblink webpage I mentioned earlier.
I hope this has helped,
Jessica, a final year NatSci student
