Can you post the actual question behind this?

Integrating y1-y2 will be the negative of integrating (y2-y1) as you might have guessed.

the general method to finding the area under the curve
is y1-y2 Dx but i don't know which equation to label what

In simple terms, you want to make the choice that means y1-y2 is always positive (over the region in which you're integrating).

Take Y1 to be the upper curve of the region and Y2 the lower curve. In the video the parabola is above the line in the region, so Y1=quadratic curve and Y2=line.

You're really doing
Int y1 - Int y2
You're subtracting one area from another. There is no assumption that y2 is a line.

omg you are incredible, ive been overthinking this and acting like y1-y2 is some huge formulae and I need to find which equation is what y value,
it just means 1 area - 2nd area = area thank you
