Hiya. I interviewed for Swansea last year and I also applied to Coventry, received offers from both places.
First off, I can tell that the Course Director who interviewed me was super serious about what he does. I had an hour interview, and it was super nice. I am pretty sure that the teaching quality would be very strong in Swansea because of that. He has also mentioned that students are taught in small groups, therefore you'll have a more focused learning directly from the tutors, if that makes sense.
Coventry on the other hand, has a lot of reputation for having a long history. I found this quite attractive, but I have not had any interviews and no interaction with the course staff at all, and it has been nearly five months since I got an offer from them. Super frustrating, but I am an applicant so I guess I'll have to live with it for the next few months and see how the uni responds.
So to wrap it up, I would say that Swansea has a Tutor/Course Director who seems very passionate and strong at what he does, Also the whole atmosphere seemed really friendly. Coventry was the opposite. Less friendly, less feedback from the admissions and the course staff, which makes me want to just go to Swansea. I can't make any assumptions for teaching quality, because again I had zero interaction with the course staff.

Hello, I know this was forever ago.
I was in the same position as you, I got 3 offers, 2 unconditionals, one of which Cov and a conditional from Swansea. Can agree the course director guy is very serious about his job, particularly about 2 mins in the interview he asked me about famous designers and let's just say I was clueless...
Coventry on the other hand was as you mentioned has a strong history, and having gone there twice it felt better for me to go there. Besides regarding course directors on the Offer Holder Day some people had had interviews, some hadn't. I did have one and I went to an open day prior so I can say they are also very dedicated to the course but in a good way it felt a bit more casual than Swansea.
Additionally at Cov what I remember them saying is that much of the design department shares the same 1st year course since it is all similar.
Anyone accessing this thread after it's really your choice whether you go to Staffordshire, Coventry or Swansea it's really opinion-based. Coventry felt better for me but I can understand the appeal of the others completely.
