Applying material from Item B and your own knowledge, evaluate the claim that the growth and influence of religious fundamentalism across the world challenges the claim that contemporary society has become more secular. [20 marks]

how would you rephrase this

Hello Angel4life

I would consider this question like this: Using both the source material and your knowledge, evaluate (so what are the arguments for and against) the claim that global religious fundamentalism (meaning literal interpretations of religion, the most common examples being fundamental Islam and Christianity) challenges the idea modern society has become secular (meaning that society today is less religious that it previously has been).

You may want to consider how religious society was before today, if society is less religious now. How does taking scripture (the bible, the Quran etc) literally mean that society is/is not secular.

I hope this helps!
All the best,
