Sexuality

Just wondered what people's takes were on the whole bisexual argument. Alfred Kinsey proposed that most people were bisexual to a degree, fitting on a scale of 0 to 6 (0= straight, 6= homosexual, 3= bisexual), whereas some people seem to think that bisexual people are "kidding themselves". I'd like posts from people concerning what they think of this scale, where they'd fit themselves on it and any extra qualifiers i.e. whether they'd need to lose their inhibitions to try a same-sex activity or if they used to view themselves as a different number on the scale. Ill post some more questions when I think of them to keep the thread moving.

Why "0-6", exactly? I don't mean to be pedantic, but that seems an obscurely specific scale.

Be as pedantic as you like! I don't know the specifics- ask Mr. Kinsey!

So what are 2 and 5 then?

For me it flicks between 0 and 3. Depends how I'm feeling.

Yes, I sound like one of those girls trying to shock, but I tend not to label, because I do change.

It's best to think of it in the following way:

0 -- Entirely heterosexual;
1 -- Predominantly heterosexual, with slight homosexual tendencies;
2 -- Predominantly heterosexual, with significant homosexual tendencies;
3 -- Entirely bisexual;
4 -- Predominantly homosexual, with significant heterosexual tendencies;
5 -- Predominantly homosexual, with slight heterosexual tendencies;
6 -- Entirely homosexual.

I dunno....i'd say i was 0...but i would MAYBE have a "sexual experience" with a girl just to see what it was like. I'd probably have to be under the influence of alcohol though. lol
Whatever.

Someone post something interesting! My thread is dying on it's ass!!!

I chose "Yes, I have already". Although there was a man present as well. It was averagely fun, but I wouldn't necessarily do it again. I definitely prefer men in that respect.

That's a lot of info... :rolleyes:

OK Here's a personal opinion. Generally people believe that girls have more homosexual tendecies than guys but actually, guys have just as many tendencies. I remember reading that 2% of the male population at one time of their life accept their homosexuality/bisexuality (doesn't mean coming out though), although 10% of guys have homosexual tendencies.
I don't find this that surprising. You just have to spend time in a guy's changing room as a teenager. From experience, I've had friends say weird stuff that would make you think they're gay or even act strangely. Yet none of them have ever been honest about it.

Erections just happen when you're young, doesn't always mean you're aroused, more often, not, actually.

I think men have fewer homosexual tendencies simply due to how sex works. Penetration is the norm for women (not saying that all women indulge in this), however for men penetration isn't the norm and so are less likely to fantasise about another man. Just my opinion of course.
