University Assignments

Hi, I have an assignment due soon with three questions left to answer. Would any kind soul be willing to help me please? I'm so stuck and I've so stressed about it.

The question is about what possible advantages to the consumer could there be in:

3a) National Grid Gas having a monopoly over the operation of the NTS
b) BG regaining a monopoly in the supply of gas to domestic households

4) What are the arguments for and against Ofgem regulating the price of gas supplied to domestic households?

Most of this would be textbook material. If you have looked into monopolies, the answers should more or less be in the relevant lecture slides and chapter of your main text.

3a) read up natural and legalised monopolies, and what reasons the law would allow them - my favourite examples would be the Post office, nucelar power stations
b) similar to 3a

4) read up inefficiencies of monopolies. There should be a supply and demand model regarding this.
