A good structure would be to look at three themes throughout the essay. So, take the following examples:
Using the source, evaluate the view that judges in the UK are not neutral or independent.
INTRO: define key terms, outline your argument and state where you stand.
THEME 1: 2005 Constitutional Reform Act - positives and negatives, analysis, reach an evaluation at the end.
THEME 2: Judicial Appointments - positives and negatives, analysis, reach an evaluation at the end.
THEME 3: Separation of Powers - positives and negatives, analysis, reach an evaluation at the end.
CONCLUSION: wrap up your argument, state the most significant points, clear evaluation.
To what extent do liberals agree over the state?
INTRO: define key terms, outline your arguments and state where you stand.
THEME 1: enabling vs minimal state
THEME 2: role of the state in the economy
THEME 3: role of the state in society
CONCLUSION: wrap up the argument, etc etc.
I usually follow this structure, but do what feels right to you. Don't worry about making x number of points, just make sure for the points you make, you evaluate and analyse them PROPERLY, using case studies and evidence where necessary.
Hope this helps
