The Student Room Group

Living the year 9 life !!

hi my name is Aisha.
i am currently in year 9 in secondary school. i am going to start writing a blog from now on because:
- i have always wanted to start a blog but i have never found the right place for it and the student room is the perfect place for my blog.
- i want to look back at this and see how far i've come on my journey in secondary school
- i wanted to be part of the grow you grades competition

my aims by the end of this year are:
- be more confident in maths
- improve my french skills
- become a pro at writing essays in english
- become more confident in myself and my studies

so far my core subjects are:
- triple scince(this may change if to double if my teachers think im not good enough to do triple science
- maths aqa (higher (also could change))
- french aqa (higher - i think)
- geography ocr b
- english language and literature eduqas

for my options i chose to do religious studies (eduqas route A )

more about me :
i love pizza (the most ive eaten is 6 my average is 4)
i love badminton trampoling (which i do at my school)
i love food but i am also really skinny lol #skinnyfries

things i am doing at the moment in school:

science
we have started doing gcse content and i am enjoying it i have been making notes and keeping them in a binder
i am having my first test (biology - cell biology)
i have it the week after next week

maths
i really don't like maths i don't enjoy it at all revising for it needs all your energy and on the 11th i have an algebra assesment (i HATE algebra)
i am doing revision for maths first and then after the test i am going to do science revision

english language
i have printed a booklet full of short texts with some short questions and some long ones too. i haven't found to work on them thought to be honest

english literature
we have recently finished the play an inspector calls. i have enjoyed it too but since we finished it we have been working on our gcse seaking exam

gcse speaking
my speech is about orca's in captivity in places like seaworld. all my info has come from a documentary called blackfish that i watched in school(for rs we were doing animal right so yh that's why) when i watched it i was shocked at the treatment of the orcas i love orcas and i was really sad to hear how they were being treated
when we had to choose ideas for our speech i had no idea what to do mine on. whilst i was at my desk sitting on my chair the idea just came out of nowhere and i thought yes that its!! i remember talking to people on tsr about how to choose a topic and they all had one thing in common they said choose something they are passionate about and i am really passionate about orcas lives

french
i used to like french in y7 but then it just got harder and more boring i am currently in the top set
i have been using duolingo to get better but its taking so long to get to more advanced stuff so i don't use it that often

religious studies
my last topic before christmas that we did was issues of life and death i found that really interesting and on my asessment i got 100% i really liked my teacher and her teaching methods too but shes pregnant and shes now on maternity leave and we now have a different teacher who i dont like. she teaches everything all jumbled up she isnt very good at teaching and now i have her all the way till i do my gcse for rs
bad luck :frown:

anyways i hope you have enjoyed reading my first blog please let me know what else you want me talk about
tell me if this blog was to long
tell me if you want to hear more from my and my life in y9
please if you have any advice for me please let me know this is my first blog so please dont criticise me for it
also i know my punctuation is bad but when typing i just forget about it so yh

I don’t mind what you talk about, it’s your blog!
You don’t have to quote your first post for each update but aside from that everything’s great

Blog 6 - Monday 8th march

hey everyone hope you are well

for me today was not a bad day it was very quiet at home becuase my sisters when to school. i had chaii wala coffee too.

the lessons i did today were french, science (we did balancing equations), English(we looked at how to include a counter argument in our speeches), geography (we looked at the banana trade and fair trade) and computer science (we had to do some boring stuff from a website called idea)

after online school i basically watched youtube for like an hour (:l eeeek)

and now im planning to watch some youtube videos on the topics that are in my science test and after my maths test which is on Thursday i will use that info along with my textbook to make my notes
has anyone got any good notes for my notes , i tend to make my notes colourful and pretty

any ways i might post again later this evening other wise ill see you tomorrow

peace out y'all
